Legal Question in Consumer Law in Indiana
I had a car accident. Insurance company adjuster cut a check to me. Put car in insurance recommended shop for repairs. Was over amount of adjustment. When picked up car (over a month ago), I asked how much was owed, was told nothing, all paid up and they gave me paperwork and keys. Per phone call, one month later, car repairer/dealership said made a mistake thinking insurance company paid and now wants money. I am okay if obligated but am I really obligated to pay if was told nothing was owed, given zero balance, given my car and sent on my way. Thank you for your time.
