Legal Question in Consumer Law in Indiana

Our number was given away from a credit application to hubby's ex wife

My husband and I had to change our phone number due to his ex wife calling and harassing us, the new number was unlisted and unpublished. He went into a place of business in town, and filled out a credit application to make a big purchase, his ex wifes daughter works there and took and processed the application........now we are getting calls again from the ex wife and we know our number was given to her from that application her daughter took. No one else had the number but us and then that business....we called the place of business and they claim they are investigating it. This is a big home improvement store also. What should we do legally, if anything can be done. We know what she did is illegal. Please give us some help. Thank you!!

Telephone harassment is a crime. You need to speak to your local police department.

As for the company, I have no idea from your e-mail what damages you might have to justify suit. You may want to talk to a local attorney as this requires more detail than what can be gotten here.
