Legal Question in Consumer Law in Indiana
What are my options?
I put 1000.00 down payment on a 2004 Jeep from EXpress Auto Credit and it was financed by a finance company next door that is partially owned by the owner of the dealer. This was Oct 24th, 2009. 600 miles later the engine blew up and warranty covered the 3300.00 to put a new one in. We have the Jeep back, but cant get the title, because the owner of the Dealer closed their doors and didnt pay the bill for the warranty repairs. We cant get a title because it is tied up in court battle between the dealer and the rest of the finance company. Now the repair center called and has informed us that he is putting a mechanics lein on the title until the bill is paid. Even though they know it was warrnty, they still want their money and have asked us for it. he explained he knows it isnt our fault, but there is a stack of unpaid bills from the company we purchased from. How do we get the title? or our money back 2000.00 total
