Legal Question in Consumer Law in Indiana
Took our trade in car, 3 weeks later denied credit
We trade our 2004 Kia in for a 2005 LeBaron. We were approved for the credit, signed all the papers and exchanged vehicles. 3 weeks later the dealership called and said that we were not approved because I was let go from my job on April 9, but we were approved 3 weeks earlier and they just now called my job on April 10. My husband is still working and I will be drawing unemployment. I don't understand how they can tell me I was approved and sign all the paperwork, switch insurance and get plates and then act like I was never approved to start with. What are my rights? Do I have to give the car back and what about my trade in, do they have to give me my car back with the payments made up to date and what if they have already sold mine? Please help. Thank you so much

First, get a local attorney. A second opinion may be different. You have a contract with the dealer, even if no financing. The biggest problem is what to do with the trade-in (it is gone) and the value you got for the past 3 weeks.
