Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

car repo older than 7 yrs.

I recently have consulted an attorney about bankruptcy which is the last thing i want to do. At which time he told me a repossion that occured in 1999-2000 would probally qualify for the limitation law.Do you think I could get this taken care of without the bankrupkcy and if so how do I keep them from the threatning and intimidating phone calls and letters.The man said they picked up the debt after the previous buisness went out of buisness and that was the reason for the delay in action.Thanks very much for your time and info.

It is a close call. Remember that the statute of limitations is an affirmative defense, you do not raise it properly then you lose it.
