Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana
collection
In March of 2002 I received a bill saying that I owed 15.00 to a mail-in prescription company. The issue that I am questioning is that they are saying that I ordered it in 1999 and they just updated their files.I don't believe that I owe the money and have corresponded several times with them over this. They remain adamant in their outlook.Should I pay the 15.00 and go on?

Re: collection
If you believe you dont owe the money, you can dispute the debt in writing and request verification pursuant to the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If they continue to demand payment, you should probably pay it since it is such a small amount.
