contractor

i have a contractor i took to court on a job i hired him to do and he didnt finish i took him to small claims court he lost by defult and he sent me a letter claiming bankrupcy when i finished with the court i seen a list with at least 50 other people on it where they did the same thing what can be done to keep this from happening to other people

If you mean stop people from taking bankruptcy, nothing. Businesses and people have ah constitutional right to take bankruptcy. I assume that he did not send you a letter but the bankruptcy court sent you Notice of Bankruptcy. You probably ought to talk to an attorney who handles creditor matters in bankruptcy court so that you do not lose any rights you have in that court.
