Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana
debt collection
I am recently signed with a settlement company. My husband just left with military oversees. Can a debt collector take me to court and garnish my wages if they are listed on the settlement company and has had contact with them?

Re: debt collection
Yes, they can. The only way to stop it is to file bankruptcy. Nothing that a debt settlement company or debt counseling company can do to stop a lawsuit except the good graces of the creditors.
