Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

I was garnished on a car I had financed in 2004 for $8404 I made payments till 2006 when my car was repossessed. They sold my car for $4300 something they took out a $1000 something repossession fee and a 2400 something preparation fee of the sale of the car only $1100 something was taken off the total. They put down a $8632 amount as to the amount owed before the sale. This is more than I financed it for. But they went yo court in 2006 for $5938 plus $164 court costs. Is this legal the way they did this and can I do something since its been this long?

It's probably too late to do anything. Additional charges were probably interest and attorney fees.
