Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Hello,

today I was caught shoplifting at Urban Outfitters. The total of the things i tried to steal was under $50. they took me to the back room and took down my name, address, phone number and SSN. They gave me a trespassing notice saying that I can't go in the store for 3 years and a Civil Demand Notice. The police were not involved, as far as i know. I was wondering what will happen to me? I know that I will get a letter in the mail that will make me pay a fine. Will I have to go to court? is this considered a felony? When I fill out job applications do i have to report this?

Thank you

If there is no criminal charge, you will probably not have to report this to an employer. Even if there is a charge, it will not be a felony. There is a civil penalty that you will have to pay to Urban Outfitters.
