Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

My now husband was sued by a collection attorney prior to us being married.. Because his paycheck is deposited into an account in my name only (he doesn't have a bank account), is it legal for the judge to require him to provide 3 months of bank statements for my account?
