Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Judgement issued under wife's maiden name.

My wife had a judgement issued against her for an unpaid credit card debt. I, as her spouse, am not on the debt, and it was obviously incurred before our marriage. Since the judgement is issued in her maiden name, and she is now married carrying my last name. Can the judgement levy our joint checking account? It is in her married name. The court and the creditor obviously do not know she married and has a different last name.

Re: Judgement issued under wife's maiden name.

Husbands have not been liable for their wife's debts only on the basis of marriage for over a hundred years.
