Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana
keeping my credit rating separate from bankrupt fiance's record
Hi -
My fiance declared bankruptcy one to two years ago. My credit
rating is excellent. I am not going to legally change my name after
marriage, we are not going to have any combined bank accounts
or credit cards. Is there anything I can do to keep my credit rating
from being affected by the marriage?
Thanks!

Your marriage will not affect your credit rating. Your rating is based on your debts and your ability to pay them, not his.
