Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Liability for dental work not yer performed

I had visited a dentist who recomended dental work, I was given an estimate of what the charges would be after insurance was billed and asked to sign the estimate of payments. I was not at the time able to afford the payments so I did not have the work done after a time I recieved notice to appear in court on a suit filed against me by dental council. I called them and set up a payment plan and informed them that I had not yet had the work performed and no insurance had been billed, they informed me of a judgement against me until the balance is paid . . .

Is this right?

I suspect there is more to the story here than what you are telling us. Under your exact facts, no it doesn't work this way. I suggest you get an attorney to fight this. Did you go to court? Did you dispute the judgment? Are you sure no work was done?
