Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

medical bill

My ex took my daughter to the hospital, she signed to be the guarantor. The hospital sent the account to collections and it is on my credit report. The collection agency says that we are both responsible, is that the true? If so wouldn't the hospital send me a bill?

Re: medical bill

There is a doctrine of necessities - medical care being a necessity. Not used too often because the Indiana Supreme Court has made it very fact sensitive, but it does still exist.

If you were divorced, then medical expenses are part of child support. You should contact your divorce attorney.
