Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

I moved to Arizona in july of 2002, in August of 2008 I decided to buy a house. when they did the credit check it showed I had a judgement against more for $900 for a check I supposedly wrote back in 2000. I say supposedly because I know I didnt write this check.I called the county clerks office in Indiana where all this occurred. They gave me the number for the Attorney that was representing the grocery store where this check was written. I called to find out what this was all about and the receptionist refused to allow me to speak to the attorney directly but did give me some information...the check was written over the Labor day weekend of that year, was originally for about $127.00 and was written at a a Payless supermarket. I don't think I wrote this check, for many reasons. First and foremost, I don't write bad checks, never have and I am certain if someone was to do a background check on me they would come to the same conclusion. Second, I was not in town that weekend, I spent the whole laborday weekend over 40 miles away with friends in a cabin on the lake, and they don't have this store in that town. third, I had just gotten divorced, lived by myself and rarely cooked, no way i would spend what would amount to nearly my whole paycheck, considering i only brought home around $189.00 a week back then. I keep getting summons from the state saying i need to come back to go to court over this. how is it that I never heard about this when it happened, 13 years ago. I lived in this state for almost another 2 years after this check was supposedly written, never got any summons, insufficient funds notice from the bank either. If the check was only $127.00 why is it over $900.00 now? What can I do to make someone listen to me in regards to all of this? If I ever go home for a visit am I subject to arrest because of this? How can they keep revisiting something like this if there was already a judgement awarded. I think this is very unjust..what are my options here, I live in AZ and cannot afford to fly back to IN just to try to sort this out,,,what would happend to the four people I support if I did go back and they stuck me in jail. I dont like having things over my head, especially if they are false. arent there some sort of statute of limitations on these things?
