Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

I received a default judgment as a result of not responding to a summons ; however, I did respond timely and yet I am still being penalized. Both the clerk's office and plaintiff's attorney both agree to having received my pleading but I still received a default judgment. This makes no sense to me. Options? Motion to vacate ?

If you didn't timely file your answer with the clerk of the court, it doesn't count. You need to file a motion on time to set aside the judgment or to appeal it. This is not a Do-It-Yourself project.
