Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

I received a letter from a collection agency I have been making payments to for about a year now, except for the last 6 months due to loss of job and income. Enclosed were two court documents, one a Motion to dismiss and the second an Order granting motion to dismiss. I called the collection agency and couldn?t get a live person so I called the court house to make sure I didn?t miss a court day because I have no idea what this is about. Do these notices mean I am being sued or something along those lines? I don?t understand what it is they are dismissing.

I don't know what they are dismissing, either. It seems unlikely that they would sue you and then dismiss the case, unless there was some sort of irregularity in the complaint.

Go to the court house with the court documents you recieved; go to the Clerk and find out what is happening with the case. They cannot give you advice, but they can tell you when it was filed, whether there is a judgment against you and how much it is, and similar information. Then, when you find out what's going on, see a lawyer about either fighting or settling the case or perhaps filing bankruptcy.
