Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

I recieved a summons on friday oct 8th via regular usps. The date to appear is oct 14! I am currenly on workman comp coverage and have a doctor apt that truly conflicts with the court time and date. I can't not reschedule my doctor apt without jepordizing my work comp status. I've sent a letter to and left a message for the law firm representing the company sueing me stating this fact, and also that I needed time to seek legal representation myself. I asked for a reschedule date. I have not heard from them yet. The date is two days away. I am trying to locate an attorney whose area is consumer debt law. I've not been able to as of yet. What else can I do?

Send a motion for continuance to the court, with a copy to the other attorney.
