Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana
statute of limitations
Credit card company advises we owe on a debt that was made in 1985. Last payment rec. was 1978. The amount is over7,000.00 but they will accept 700.00 if I pay now. No bills were sent to us in 18 years. Do we owe this now? Thank you

Re: statute of limitations
If you have any doubt that you ever actually incurred this debt, I suggest you contact the Indiana Attorney General, as this sounds like a scam to me. In any event, if there has been no contact with the creditor for 18 years, the SOL applies, and the debt is unenforceable.
