I am being sued for old docter bills...

i am being sued for a small amount, of 2208.00 and i am trying to settle out of court. i have not recieved any information if they will or not. how can i get answers i need? and do you think a sum of money would be excepted verises court, in may case...the sute is for old docter bills. do i need a lawyer to settle out of court?

No, you do not need to get an attorney but you do have to be diligent in contacting the creditor to find out if they are going to accept the payment or not. If the payment is very low they would probably rather go to court to obtain a judgment against you especially if they think you can afford more.

Whatever happens, make sure you get any settlement in writing.
