Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

About 3 months ago I ran out of gas one night and I was close to where my stepdad lives. So I walked towards his house and the only house that was lit was his neighbor, Darius. I knocked on his door and no response so I checked to see if the door was unlocked and it was. I stuck my head inside and yelled for Darius, no reply. So I walked inside to check for him. Darius came inside from out back and told me someone tried to steal his guns and broke into through a window in a room. I smelled alcohol on his breath and could tell he was intoxicated. He gave me gas and a lift back to my car down the road and I thanked him. Next week I found out he called the police and accused me of robbing him. A sheriff called me a few days ago and asked about the incident. I told him the story and said he would have to read my rights before any further questioning. What advice can you give to me?
