I have a 42 year old felony of arson in the 2nd degree and want to restore my civil rights
and apply for a gun permit�what must I do�thanks

I'm handling a case very similar to your question involving a felony 54 years ago. You would need to seek and be granted a governor's pardon to remove the conviction. Remember even if you are somehow currently allowed to have and use firearms under your state law, Federal law prohibits it for any felony conviction.
