She want to help me 4 what she did but is scared that she would get in trouble she was 9 years old then. I have tried to find out if she as a child could get in trouble if she know ask to have it erased from my record. She wants to tell the truth now but again she is affraid at her age now is 24. Can you tell us what to do. I am not in jail and was only in 6 hours and took a plea coz it was costing our family to much money and I need to feed my family even I know I did not do and she knew. Re: 15 years ago now recant
People "recant" in unsworn testimony frequently after conviction, and this does not automatically mean they are telling the truth NOW. You will need to find an attorney who practices in the county where the conviction occurred, and ask the lawyer how much it will cost to file a pcr petition. Also, you will need to explain why you thought it was OK to lie under oath when you told the court that you committed the crime that you plead guilty to.
