Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
How is it that one can be arrested on a warrant, and jailed having never gave a statement of any kind..
Dont they (law officials) have to have some kind of proof? What can a person do to obtain counsel with very little funds and not go with a local public defender?

You have the right to remain silent, but your silence does not shield you from an arrest based upon other evidence.
If you can't afford a lawyer then you should go with the public defender. Most PDs are very good lawyers, though they are overworked and can't give each case enough of their time. Occasionally a private attorney will take a criminal case pro bono, but there usually must be something unusual about the case to get the attorney's interest.
