Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

My boyfriend was arrested this past Thursday because he was in truck and his two friends had dope on them. The cops searched him but they found nothing on him. He has been in there for 5 days and they are holding him with an Afelony dealing and a C felony possession. Are they allowed to hold him for that even though they found nothing on him?

Your boyfriend is probably being charges on a theory of constructive possession and if one of the charges is a class A felony he needs to stop talking about this over the phone to you and anyone else and only speak with a lawyer immediately.
