Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
My boyfriend was on probation and he stole his moms car and the police Found him chased him down but he did not stop, they crash the car he had a paraphanlia in the car, he failed his drug test that night.. He goes to court monday and he said his public offender is going to try and let him out on house arrrest.. Is that possible or will he def do time

Your boyfriend has two issues: 1) the probation violation and 2) the crimes for which he was recently arrested. It is possible that the PD could ask the court to release him on house arrest but this is only a "pre-trial release" condition. This doesn't mean that he wouldn't have to do jail/prison time later. I am a former judicial officer from Marion County. If I had information on what courts his cases were in, I could give you a better idea of what type of sentence to expect.
