Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

I am being charged in Indiana with battery. I broke the window out of my truck that my husband drove to his girlfriends house. I went and broke it. She came out and beat me up. I didn't defend myself, except to throw the hammer out of my hands because I feared she would use it on me. She claimed that I hit her with it, although the deputy said he didn't believe I hit her. I had a black eye and several cuts and bruises, she had nothing but a supposed red mark on her nose. I have an appt. with the prosecutor in a month. I plead not guilty already.

Please reread this, and you will see that you did not pose a question in it. I am assuming that your question is "What should I do?", and if so, the answer is:"Get a lawyer in your community, and if you can not afford one, ask for a public defender."
