Re: Check Deception
Check deception is a class "A" misdemeanor. If convicted one could serve up to one year in jail (which could be suspended), be fined 5,000.00 , be required to pay restitution and serve probation. Yet. in some instances if one pays the full amount of restitution, that is the amount of check, then the matter might be dismissed. Each case is different and more facts would need to be known for a real analysis of yours. Consequently this should not be relied upon as necessarily applicable in your case.
