Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

I was convicted in 1999 served my sentence and finished my probation of five years with out any prior convictions. My question is how can I have my sentence taking off of my record or have it amended to a lesser charge. I have not been in any trouble with the law since 1999 I am currently working as a Nurse Aide and would like to further my education into the Nursing field but can not do so because of my conviction of dealing a controlled substance a Class B felony. I am a grown man now and know what I did was immature. I have turned my life around for the better. This conviction I feel is holding me back like a anchor from the field I have chosen.

The is no way to have this charge taken off your record. Indiana does not allow a person to expunge a criminal conviction, unless it involves some sort of mistaken identity.
