Criminal charges are brought by your local prosecutor on behalf of all the people of Indiana and your community. While the victim's wishes in pursuing charges is one factor which may determine if the case goes forward there are others. You and/or your daughter can consult a local attorney who represents victims of crime for further, specific advice or go directly to your prosecuting attorney's office to discuss this type of matter. Either of you can also notify your local police if a crime occurred even if your report is delayed.
