Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

Expungement Procedures

Two years ago, I was arrested for check deception. To make a long story short, I had just moved, had my mail forwarded, but did not receive a notice of being prosecuted. At my court date, the prosecutor acknowledged that I had paid the bad check and fees, and did not give me any jail time, which is mandatory 2 days. This is on my record and background check which hinders any meaningful employment. Any advice how to have this expunged from my record? One attorney told me it would cost $3000- $5000.

Re: Expungement Procedures

There is only one way to have this removed from your record-to have it expunged. Please call Oliver from my office at (800) 313-9619 and he will explain the process and costs involved.

Re: Expungement Procedures

What you are really needing is "post-conviction relief" as opposed to expungement (which is only available in very limited cases). This requires that an attorney get a transcript of your guilty plea and look for flaws in the court proceedings. My fee would be less than the $3000 you were quoted, plus the cost of the transcript, which should be minimal. If you are interested, please email me.
