Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

Father of 4

My boyfriend/father of 4 young children is in trouble. He admitted something he didnt do, just so they would let him go. His 4 year olds birthday was a couple days later, and he was the only provider. Two weaks later the cops arrested him and charged him with 3 counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. The only evidence they have is the confession. But on the tape he's begging them to let him go because his sons birthday was a couple day, and they let him go after they got what they wanted. This girl is 18 now this supposedly happened 3 to 4 years ago. Shes been locked up for dating older men, shes got another guy in prison for the same thing so shes cried wolf before. Now he has a decision to take the plea (6 years do 3) or take it to jury trial. Can you please PLEASE give us advice. He wants to take it to trial but we dont want the jury to find him guilty. The girl might not even go to trial to. What do you think??? The only evidence is the confession should we take it to trial??? Please HELP us.
