Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

I was fired from my job, they say violation of company policy, when ask what violation HR stated for being a competitor with the company. HR and LP asked about items I have sold on EBay which is the type of items the company I worked for sold. Evidently they are assuming I have stolen from them, which I have not. Now a detective has come to my home twice and called wanted to speak to me. What should I do? Evidently I was ignorant to their policy and all items I sold on eBay did not come from them. Do I have to speak to the detetive and how can I have them stop coming to my home? Or calling? I have spoke to a friend who is a cop (high up) and he says there is no warrant for arrest and this detective evidently is fishing. I know I have not done anything wrong, i know I cannot afford to hire an attorney just to talk to the detective as I know they can trick people is what I have been told, so what do I do?

You do not have to talk to the detective and should not until you have talked to your own lawyer. You cannot afford NOT to talk to an attorney about this, to the extent you should get a friend to loan you $100 or so in order for you to do it.
