Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

A friend was staying w/us & my moms dog bit her during a yelling, arm flailing fit she was throwing & after she swung at him once & pushed him away several times then punched him-then he bit her. She knows this dog well & knew how he reacts to loud and or fast movement (not counting the punch) From what I;ve heard, she has pressed some kind of charges against us. Can she do that? Living here & knowing how the dog is. We do have a sign on front door & we warn EVERYONE that comes in our home. PLEASE HELP US. Thank you!

There is nothing to help you with yet. If the prosecutor decides to prosecute your mother, then she should contact an attorney or have one appointed for her. Your former friend can not "press charges" on her own; only the State of Indiana can file a criminal charge.
