Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

I liked this girl and things did not work out. She wanted to date my best friend which I did not like. Things started getting bad and she started distancing herself and so did I. There was no fight or verbal abuse from both sides at any point of time. Finally she sent an obnoxious email to me but I just accepted that email by a one line response. There was a string of emails exchanged but I was never offensive and always wrote in a civilized language. We decided to cut off contact but a month later (6/22/2010) she sent me an email accusing that I had been telling people that she was my girlfriend (which of course, I never did!). She is planning to charge me with a case of harassment, according my sources. I have not even contacted her for over a month and only sent a 2 line reply to her latest email denying her accusations. Is it possible for her to report me for harassment? If so, can I contact a lawyer and be ready if such a thing happens?

She can file a reprt, but if the facts are as you state, the prosecutor would not pursue charges. Yes, you can talk to an attorney. Stop answering her.
