Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
harboring a parole violator
My 80 year old Mother is allowing her 19 year old great grandson to live with her. This young man is in violation of his parole in two seperate counties, one for drunk driving, the other for assaulting a young lady. The police have been looking for him, but the rest of the family lies and tells the police they don't know where he is. Could my Mother be charged with a crime by allowing him to stay with her, knowing full well that he is wanted by the police?

Re: harboring a parole violator
Your mother could be considered an accessory to whatever crimes he commits by harboring him. She and anyone else who is lying to the police about his whereabouts is asking for trouble.
