Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
identity theft
I am just ending a lease with two roommates. Myself and another individual are still friends but both of us have a tense relationship with the one guy that moved out several weeks ago. The one that moved out recently told me he is going to pursue identity theft charges against me. He feels he can do so because all year, whenever there was an internet or cable issue, he asked me to call for him/us and gave me his SSN to verify the account. I did so with his permission and had my other roommate as witness. No bills have been left outstanding and the account is closed at this time. Does he have a leg to stand on and should I worry?

Re: identity theft
I really don't think you have anything to worry about since you say you had his permission and there are no outstanding bills. He's probably just blowing smoke.
