Impersonation
If you are a step parent is it against the law to claim to be a childs biological parent on medical or other information about the child?

Misleading information may pose some serious issues even if well intentioned.
If such misrepresentations are made under oath subject to penalties of perjury or in some other context where a true legal response is required, then one may find themselves in a very difficult legal position.
Beyond this, a true representation may be necessary for medical reasons as well as others which could have an adverse impact on the child in question.
I would urge that true representation be made even where the relationship is good one with the stepchild simply to prevent any unnecessary difficulties for yourself and the child.
