Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
Jay Rigdon,
Thank you for your reply. I am not sure about his assets. I know he has already paid for an attorney. I know he has a job, an apartment, and a car. How exactly does the civil suit work?

Go talk to an attorney in your community about the case. The initial charge will typically be free or some reasonable amount(you can ask first). There is probably about an hour's worth of things to tell you about how a civil suit of this nature works, and this is not the forum to do that.
Good luck
