leagle search?

i had a heated arguement with my husband the cops took me to a shelter and later they took him to a psyciatric unit .i did not know they took him ,i sent a friend to check on him about 5 hrs later.when my husband did not answer the door i gave our friend permision to kick in the door . the neighbor called the law.our friend was long gone when they got to the house but they proceeded to go through our drawers digging out a bong and other paraphenalia. we havent smoked in months and we had no weed, our stuff was well concealed in various small drawers.when i came home it was all sitting out ,the cops have not charged us, but can they come back for it with a warrent?

Re: leagle search?

Aside from what facts you have already provided, it would be necessary to look at the circumstances under which this search was conducted. There do exists situations which allow police to search a home absent a warrant. Whether those factors were present is not known at this time from the facts given. If the police try to use what they have found as a means to have charges filed or conduct another search, it may be tainted due to their acts and rendered inadmissable in a court of law.
