Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
I live in a fraternity and a group of six friends and I decided to set fire to a large wooden structure that we build every spring for one of our big parties. This is a tradition for our fraternity so this is typically not a huge deal although alcohol was obviously involved. The fire ended up causing around $30,000 in damages and our house corps has advised me that because I was the only one to come forward I will either have to pay the damages or if they go through insurance I will likely be targeted by the insurance companies and sued for the damages. I'm wondering what sort of case I can make, if any. I am 22 and have no history of getting into trouble with either the University or my fraternity. Thank you.

What "case" do you want to make? If you did this, you are responsible. You can always identify the other participants to the insurance company if you are pursued for damages, who can then help pay for it.
