Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
HI, I live in indiana and my sister and her husband abused their two month old child (11 broken bones). This happend months ago and the police still have not filed a report, and the prosecutors office is a year and a half behind (thats what the detective told us) We have enough evidence to safely say that they did it and hospital documents and confessions they told the police. Since im a legal guardian of the child now can I just press charges myself instead of waiting for the state to follow through?

Only the prosecutor can "press charges" in the State of Indiana. Talk to the prosecutor's office directly if you should have any questions or concerns you wish to express.
