Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
A married friend of mine (in Indiana) is in an abusive domestic situation, where she has threatened to call police on her husband if he acts up again. He has some substance abuse issues and may have illegal substances in the home, but she lives a clean life and does not get involved in the use, sale or purchase of such substances. If she calls 911 for a domestic abuse situation, and if the police find illegal drugs or paraphernalia on the scene, is she likely to get arrested? If so, what steps should she take to protect herself? Should she inform the 911 dispatcher or police on the scene of any such items?

Your friend should get a protective order and get her spouse into a program and make sure her house is clean if she does not want to file for a divorce. If he abides by that, she wont even have to address this issue. Otherwise a protective order and a divorce is in order.
