Missed Court Appearances due to Lawyer's Neglect
If someone informs their lawyer that they won't be able to attend a court appearance and to please request a continuance, does the court still issue a bench warrant even if that lawyer informs the court of his client's request?

Re: Missed Court Appearances due to Lawyer's Neglect
As with anything, it will depend on the facts and circumstances. However, a court may feel that the reason given is not justified, there have been too many continuances or that the request was not made far enough in advance. This is certainly not an exhaustive list. Yet if the court considers any of these points, it could very well issue a bench warrant. It may not activate it if the defendant appears within a time frame as given by the court, but this is within discretion of the court.
