Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
First offense felony
I was told by my original public defender, they changed three times before by case was over, that my d class felony could be expunged from my record because this case was my first offense. Is this true?

Re: First offense felony
While I have not had the opportunity to review the facts of this case, I would strongly urge you to discuss this with your attorney. It may be that as this is the first felony as you've represented, that it will be reduced from felony status to an "A" misdemeanor. If it were expunged, then that would normally mean that the arrest and conviction would removed from your criminal history as if it never existed. As you can see there is a distinction.
