Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

I was looking online for a loan-and a person said they could help me so I agreed to let them do so-they sent me a check I took it to my bank and the bank said there would be a hold of 7 days to make sure it would clear so I waited to make sure the check would clear-I did not spend any of the money and come to find out the check was stolen-so my bank closed my account because of the check and then I had an officer come to my door asking me what happened so I told him the same thing I am telling now and the officer told me that I could go to jail for forgery-but when I called my bank and the bank that the check was stolen from they did not think that anything would happen to me because the money was all recovered and I have proof that it was all taken care of-the thing is they want all my conversations with this person and unfortunetly I do not have them because my computer got a virus and I lost everything so what is really going to happen to me I did not know the check was stolen and I got scammed end of story.
