Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
I know two people that were caught shop lifting and now they have a court date for this Wednesday. They stole 180 dollars worth of groceries but gave it all back when asked and cooperated. They didn't walk out the doors with the items. A cop was called but they were not arrested just given a court date. One is a minor the other is 19. This is their first time committing a crime like this, they have clean records. What do I need to expect with this?

This varies county to county and judge to judge. Their lawyers should have the best information to try to predict an outcome.
