Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
i had to take a plea to get the hell out of jail under duress of the court this aws 11 mon. later why didnt my p.d. give my a fast and speedy there was no witness? i think i got the shaft my 6th was violated what can i do now take and live with it?

Hire private defense counsel to review the file and see whether you may have grounds to seek a remedy.
1. Your pd doesn't "give you" a fast and speedy trial; you have the right to ask for one from the judge.
2. You should not have taken the plea if you were not guilty. You may have committed perjury when you admitted to the crime at the plea hearing, if you really didn't do it.
3. If the desire to get out of jail was sufficient "duress" to overcome a voluntary guilty plea, most defendants would not be able to work out favorable plea agreements.
