Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
Pre-Trial Diversion
In 1993 I was arrested for a class C felony. I received 4 years suspended, 1 year pre-trial diversion and 1 year probation. I completed both and was not in trouble ever before, and have not been since then. If you complete pre-trial diversion, isn't that supposed to clear your record of the felony or ''wipe the slate clean'' as they say?

Re: Pre-Trial Diversion
The purpose of pre-trial diversion is to provide an opportunity for one to avoid a conviction. However, it does not mean that the record of arrest will be removed, but simply that the case or charges have been dismissed.
